around the world because the “secret” of these barrels is the obsessive attention to every aspect of production: from
the selection of steel bars to the initial centering and lapping of the bore, from the progressive machining of the
grooves to the final lapping process. Every step is subjected to a quality control process which, for barrels made for
sporting competitions, such as those used by the Victrix Venus V, is particularly stringent. The rifled bars obtained
through this process are profiled and sent to Victrix, which takes care of the chambering and final assembly to the
rifle. Certainly there are much cheaper products, even Italian ones, that can approach the ballistic performance
of the expensive Benchmark barrels, but it is equally certain that these products have not proven to be able to
guarantee a comparable level of quality and consistency.
The mighty Victrix ProAngle Venus V removable brake, equipped with four expansion chambers, is threaded on
the muzzle, while the barrel itself is threaded to the action with a nut that integrates a recoil lug positioned between
the rear of the barrel and the front face of the action. The oversized recoil lug and the action match perfectly with the
innovative stock, which integrates intelligent technical and ergonomic solutions designed to improve the shooting
experience of shooters, even those not involved in PRS competitions.
First of all, the “chassis” is made from a solid block of aluminum-based
lightweight alloy, with levels of finishing and construction care comparable
to those of the aerospace industry. Secondly, the buttstock, also made of
lightweight alloy, can be replaced with a different model made by Victrix-
Rome itself. Foldable versions are also in Victrix’s catalog.
Available with black anodized or Victrix O-Range vibrant orange Cerakote
finishes, the stock profile closely retraces the principles of classic sport
stocks used in Olympic rifle competitions at 50 meters. The forend is flat
and extends 480 mm (18.9 inches) from the rectangular magazine well.
