The Rome mount with a knob allows you to quickly change the position of the bipod.

causes it to retract during the rotation of the bolt. The striker
is equipped with a special visual and tactile indicator placed
on the rear of the bolt and, in order to guarantee the safe
handling of the weapon, there is a two-position safety with a
checkered surface located on the right side of the action. The
aforementioned safety is integrated into the trigger mechanism
that is anchored to the action by means of a plate.
The trigger mechanism turned out to be another of the many points of
excellence of the Venus: made by Rottigni mechanical workshops, the
company that produces Victrix weapons and Rome accessories, the trigger
pack of our rifle uses a single stage adjustable trigger with a pull weight of
just 160 grams (5.6 oz.). The trigger is commercially available as the “Victrix
Sporting Plus single-stage trigger” and it allows the shooter to make precise,
reliable and, above all, consistent adjustments.
During PRS competitions the stability of the rests used to stabilize the
firearm varies a lot, so the trigger of the Venus was deliberately equipped
with a greater contact surface between the sear and the lever of the trigger
pack. This has produced a single stage trigger with a good amount of travel, 3
whose movement ends with the clear perception of the let-off. Therefore, if
you intend to use the gun for precision shooting from a static position (prone
or on a bench), it may be necessary to move the adjustment screw in order to
shorten the pre-travel.
When applied to PRS, the long pre-travel provides greater safety while also
ensuring better control when taking a shot in a “shaky” position. In practice,
as they often say, the trigger tends to “forgive” any small error made by
the shooter. On the contrary, the incredibly accurate barrel doesn’t forgive
human mistakes.
An awesome barrel
If we consider that the short action used for the Venus V was designed to
achieve absolute precision, it’s not surprising that Victrix chose an excellent
match-grade Benchmark barrel made of 416R steel, lapped before and after
the rifling process. 24” long and with a heavy profile, it has five grooves
with a constant twist of 11” (279 mm), obtained through button rifling.
Always synonymous with high performance, the products of the US-based 4
Benchmark are greatly appreciated by the most demanding sport shooters
