The Italian Proof house defines the tolerances for revolvers
The Italian Proof house has specified on its website, on the page dedicated to the
procedure for the classification of weapons, the tolerances allowed on the length
of the barrel for the weapons submitted for classification. In other words, it has
made explicit the metric indication on how different the lengths of the barrels can
be compared to the data reported on the classification application form, without
requiring a new and different application. As regards long guns and short guns
with single shot, manual or semi-automatic repetition, the counter has taken up the
indications contained in circular no. 557/PAS.50.0385/Q/11 published by the Internal
affair office on June 20 2011, so the maximum tolerance allowed is +/- 2 millimeters.
The 2011 circular, however, in specifying a different measurement procedure for the
barrels of revolvers, did not indicate any specific tolerance as regards the length
of the barrel of the latter. The Proof house specified that, as regards revolvers, the
maximum tolerance allowed will be +/- 4 millimeters with respect to the nominal
value of the barrel. So, for example, if a revolver model is classified as a sporting Finally, explicitly defined the tolerance
gun with a barrel of nominal length of 152mm, any specimen of that model with a ranges on the measures of the revolvers and
barrel between 148 and 156mm will be considered a sporting gun. in particular of the barrels.
The Jakele J1 straight-pull rifle.
Jakele J1, the innovative straight-pull
There is a new Bavarian company that created a truly innovative and interesting straight-pull: it’s called Jakele J1 and, in addition to
the elegance of the shapes, it offers original and avant-garde technical contents. The locking system uses a rotating head with two
pairs of lugs at 180 degrees, which guarantee absolute safety in any condition. The great lack in this weapon is the dorsal cocking
system that characterizes many of these creations, in favor of the “Relax” system consisting of a spur behind the trigger guard, within
reach of the middle finger of the right hand. In this way, the arming of the percussion system becomes as natural as holding the
weapon but, at the same time, when the grip is released to rearm, the mechanism is automatically secured, thus ensuring that under
any circumstances, the gun cannot fire accidentally. Barrel and bolt head can be quickly replaced to change caliber, even the bolt
knob is customizable as well as it is possible to disassemble and change stock and fore-end, passing from walnut wood (with varying
degrees of quality) to synthetic stock. All disassembly operations can also be performed in the field, thanks to the universal tool
hidden inside the fore-end. Fixed magazine of 2 cartridges, plus a third in the chamber. The trigger is also innovative, in fact it can be
switched to two different release weight ranges depending on the use: hunting or at shooting range.

Defense spending on the rise, but in 6 years
The “mini-crisis” between the Draghi government and the
M5S party has been finally unlocked, about the increase
in funds to be allocated for Defense: as is well known, the
agreements at NATO level oblige Italy to invest up to 2 per
cent of GDP, but the party led by Giuseppe Conte showed
opposition to this investment (at least in relation to the rather
short time to reach the goal), precisely on the occasion of
the conversion into law of the “Ukraine decree” in Senate.
The agreement, shared on one hand by the Prime Minister
Draghi and the Minister of Defense Lorenzo Guerini, and
on the other by the 5 Star Movement, was reached and
plans to reach the expected level of fundrising (which
already increased in 2018 and 2019, even when Giuseppe
Conte himself was chairman of the Government), but more
Italy will have to increase military spending up to 2 percent of GDP, gradually and progressively, that means by 2028 and not,
following the NATO agreements, but it has been decided to achieve as planned, by 2024. The compromise solution was also
this goal within 6 years. welcomed by the Pd secretary, Enrico Letta.
