quick shots. I found the 710 mm
barrel a little less natural, but more
suitable for chasing and aiming
the target, while the 610 mm one
is literally infallible for close-range
targets and rapid shots. The right
middle ground for those who
practice both woodcock and still
hunting is probably the 660 mm
barrel, which maintains a rather
small footprint but has a slightly
longer line of sight. I also really
appreciated the Extralight recoil
pad, which slides well on the

the impact of all loads. The recoil
is manageable even with the short
barrel: the muzzle rise is barely more perceptible than that of the 710 mm barrel, but when hunting with a dog and
firing only a few cartridges you can easily accept the compromise in order to have greater lightness.
To complete the evaluation, I also carry out the usual pattern plate tests, using the hunting model with a 710
mm barrel. For the first barrel, I use a Cylindric choke and Baschieri & Pellagri Mygra woodcock cartridges,
dispersant with 34 grams of 8.5 lead shots, to simulate a typical shot made while hunting the queen of the woods.
At a distance of 15 meters, 429 shots are scored in the 750 mm circle (85% of the total), while the 350 mm diameter
group center counts 197 shots (46% of the shots on the target). For the second barrel, I shoot at a distance of 30
meter using the Modified choke and Fiocchi Pl34 lead 7 cartridges. The shots that hit the large circle are 328 (88%
of the total), while the center of the group is made up of 184 shots (56% of the shots on the target).
The new Ultraleggero passed with flying colors the hunting test and the ones on the platform and on the plate,
proving to live up to its expectations. It is a modern, unconventional and technologically advanced over/under,
the perfect companion for the most extreme hunters. The retail price in Italy, € 2,490 including VAT and carry case,
places the shotgun in an intermediate market segment, close to that of the 691.
