Aigle Altavio Mid GTX
hen talking about the best-known manufacturers
Wof hunting boots, we cannot fail to mention the
French Aigle, appreciated all over the world for the
quality of its footwear. One of their best-known boots is
certainly the Altavio: lightweight and waterproof, they
are ideal for hunting during the summer. The design is
inspired by that of riding boots and it guarantees perfect
comfort while still offering excellent grip on the ground.
suede leather
The Aigle Altavio are equipped with an upper made
of suede and brushed leather, rather thin and very
soft. The tongue, with the exception of a central
leather insert, is made of Cordura, to further improve
breathability. The upper is characterized by the MTD
surface treatment, a particular technology that increases
the degree of waterproofing while allowing proper
ventilation. Two rubber inserts have been added in
correspondence with the toe and heel, useful to give
greater rigidity to the structure and to protect the
upper’s leather from abrasion.
The Altavio Mid by Aigle are boots characterized by high
flexibility and great lightness. They are ideal for terrains
that are not particularly demanding during the summer.
the lightest
While still formally falling within the category of “mid” boots, the
Altavio have a lower ankle height than the other boots tested, with
a maximum value of 19 centimeters which drops to 16 at the rear, to
improve the movement of the foot. The Aigle Altavio, in addition,
are also the lightest boots of our comparison, with a weight of 745
grams (1.6 lb.) for a size 45 boot. The lacing, thanks to the reduced
height, uses just seven pairs of steel hooks: four are ring-shaped
and three are closed.
