1 The cartridge uses a magnum case, with an overall length of 76 mm (3”).
There is a 6-point star crimp and the loaded cartridge measures 64 mm
(2.5”) in height. The case head is 21 mm (.8”) tall and it’s made of brass-
plated type 4 sheet metal with no Gordon system. The case is made of
dark green plastic with yellow writings that indicate the weight and
name of the cartridge. Since this is a magnum cartridge, it can only be
used in shotguns with a 3” chamber. It is also important to follow the
manufacturer’s instructions regarding chokes, which, in general, should
not exceed *** Modified.
A special powder
Upon first visual inspection, the powder contained in the Mygra Duck
Magnum ammo undoubtedly belongs to the M92S family, a powder
developed by Baschieri & Pellagri specifically for magnum and semi-
magnum loads. Like almost every B&P powder, it is a so-called modified

nitroglycerin, produced by lamination. The use of nitroglycerin offers a

significant thermobalistic advantage, increasing speed and calorific value
in the face of lower average pressures. The suggested M92S dose for a
40-gram load is 2 grams of powder, while the 34-gram Mygra Duck is

750 mm (29.5”) circle were 183 (75% of the total), while inside the 350
mm (13.8”) middle circle there were 72 pellets (39% of those on target).
According to the manufacturer’s data, the cartridge has a velocity,
measured at one meter (1 yard) from the muzzle, of 450 m/s (1,476 FPS).
The pressure is 770 bar (11.167 PSI). This ammo is an excellent alternative
for duck hunters looking for a lead-free cartridge with an intermediate
3 load, perfect for effective shots even at medium-long distances.
