Technique, but also style
1
Traditionally, almost all the classic weapons of
the Old West were available in a luxury version,
with particular finishes such as nickel or even
gold plating, and prestigious engravings made
by masters of the burin and chisel or with the
technique of etching. Today, even for the replicas
of these great classics it is possible to obtain special
editions, commemorative or simply luxury versions,
but in this case two possibilities open up: the first
is to apply the same old-style techniques to the
gun, using hand engraving or etching, and in this
case there is the risk of surpassing several times
the “naked” value of the gun, with a process that,
overall, doesn’t make sense. The second option is
to apply a series of engravings made with modern
automated techniques which, however, until
now were not even comparable to the original
engravings. Laser engraving, in particular, which is
most suitable for modern production criteria thanks
