he Pietta model 1873 of is a revolver that needs few introductions: among the replicas of the
famous Colt Peacemaker, in fact, it is one of the most renowned and appreciated, especially on the
T US market, where Cowboy action shooting and, more generally, the historical reenactment of the
American Frontier period boasts the largest number of followers and where, over the years, these firearms
have earned a reputation for being an extremely accurate copy of the original ones (so much so that the
components are in many cases directly interchangeable), and also for their reliability, thanks in particular
to an extensive redesign work that involves modern machining of all the main springs (starting with the
hammer, trigger and cylinder stop springs). The result is a gun that becomes a “classic within a classic”,
well usable at the range or in Cowboy action shooting but also pleasant to admire in a gun collection,
thanks to the excellent quality of the finishing work.
Having said all this, Pietta is not a company that likes to rest on its laurels and they always try, especially in a
market as demanding as that of replicas of the great myths of the Old West, to propose continuous technical
and production evolutions: one of the latest practical application of this working methodology is represented
by the new generation of laser engravings that is applied on the “luxury” series (Engraved), which has
caught our attention and which is actually enjoying great success in the US.
